SPRINGDALE -- Three Northwest Arkansas law enforcement agencies combined to round up cattle rustlers over the weekend.
Three arrests -- made by the Madison County Sheriff's Office, the Washington County Sheriff's Office and the Springdale Police Department -- led to other suspects in a large-scale cattle-rustling operation, according to a news release from the Madison County Sheriff's Office.
Two men were arrested Friday at Farmers Livestock Auction in Springdale in connection with felony theft of property. Doyle R. Scrivner, 23, 2780 Salmon Lane, Harrison, and Brent L. Foster, 19, 1925 U.S. 62 West, Berryville, were arrested after they came by the auction to pick up a check for cattle sold at the auction. The cattle were reported stolen in Madison County.
Chance Biggerstaff, 20, was arrested Monday morning at the Madison County Sheriff's office.
All three men are suspects in other rustling cases in Northwest Arkansas, southern Missouri and eastern Oklahoma, according to the release. About 30 head of cattle were stolen from the area and sold at several different auction barns.
The suspects also face charges in Boone County, according to the release. Attorneys representing others in the theft ring have contacted the sheriff's office. People in the ring are involved in the rodeo circuits in Northwest Arkansas, southern Missouri and Oklahoma, according to authorities.
