    • Former circuit judge William Enfield of Bentonville was honored as Arkansas Citizen of the Year by the Albert Pike Memorial Scottish Rite Temple in Little Rock.

    The award honors Arkansans who excelled in business, community service and/or military service.

    The Arkansas Scottish Rite Foundation will give approximately $100,000 in Enfield's name throughout the year. The donations support RiteCare Centers at the University of Arkansas campuses in Fayetteville and Little Rock, at Harding University in Searcy and Grand Prairie Child Development Center at Stuttgart.

    • The Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce/Associated Industries of Arkansas has hired Susie Marks of Little Rock as director of membership and statewide organizations. She will oversee membership, assist with communications efforts and be director of the Arkansas Economic Developers and the Arkansas Chamber of Commerce Executives. Marks worked 14 years at the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce. She earned a master's degree in sports management from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Ala. and a bachelor's degree in business administration from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia.

    • Metropolitan National Bank has hired Laura A. Turner of Springdale as bank officer and commercial relationship manager and Rick Daniel as senior vice president and commercial relationship manager. Turner will focus on commercial lending and has more than six years of experience in commercial lending with other Northwest Arkansas banks. Daniel earned a bachelor's degree from Westminster College in Fulton, Mo. and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Okla.

    • The Arkansas Optometric Association recently gave distinguished service awards to Dr. John Sugg of Fayetteville and Dr. Chris Morris and Dr. David Witherspoon, both of Rogers. The association also elected Dr. Darren Brodie of Rogers as president and Morris as vice president.
