Springdale-based BNSF Logistics LLC has acquired Pro-Am Transportation Services Inc.
Jamestown, N.D.-based Pro-Am is a third-party transportation brokerage business with approximately $25 million of revenue in 2006, a BNSF press release stated.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Pro-Am will operate within the Transportation Execution Services unit of BNSF Logistics, providing trucking transport services in 48 states.
Richard Russack, spokesman for BNSF, said the expansion will likely not create new jobs in Springdale or cause jobs to be lost in Jamestown. Eric Wolfe, vice president and general manager of BNSF said Pro-Am's large base of industrial business will be a nice complement to the present BNSF portfolio.
BNSF Logistics, is an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corp. The company helps its customers ship products, ranging from management of a single shipment to the daily management of complex distribution and sourcing networks.
