FAYETTEVILLE -- Minutes after Wayne Hrozek hit his 10th-inning walk-off two-run double to provide No. 10 with a dramatic 4-3 win against Ole Miss all he got was shaving cream smashed into his face.
When Hrozek launched a 2-1 pitch off Ole Miss reliever Cody Satterwhite to the wall in right-center, the crowd of 9,812 went bonkers and Arkansas players followed suit behind him.
Because of Hrozek's heroic blast, Arkansas sewed up the Southeastern Conference Western Division championship.
Almost every player chest-bumped, high-fived, hugged or slapped Hrozek on the back.
Then came the shaving cream pie, courtesy of Razorbacks manager Justin White.
"It was a fastball away," Hrozek said. "When I hit it, it felt good. I knew the ball was going to get over his head and it was a big adrenaline rush.
"I thought I had a chance to win the game an inning before and get us a couple of runs and I struck out. I had to redeem myself."
Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn saw it as redemption.
"The guy is 5-foot-7, 5-8 maybe but he's as strong as an ox," Van Horn said. "He drove it deep. I felt like it was going over the guy's head and we haven't had a big hit like that in two weeks."
Big Moment
Maggie Gatling, 14, sang the national anthem Friday night.
She is Miss Teen Western Arkansas and an eighth-grader in Van Buren who will attend Woodland Junior High in Fayetteville.
Gatling released her first CD in January.
She is the daughter of Dave and Melinda Jorn and Leslie Gatling. Jorn is the pitching coach for the Razorbacks.
Scary Moment
Abby Frizzell, a senior Diamond Doll, suffered a cut on the bridge of her nose, in the third inning.
Ole Miss catcher Alex Kliman dove for a foul ball as he ran into a metal screen in front of Frizzell. The screen hit Frizzell causing the cut.
She later was taken to the hospital for stitches.
