It's time to deck the halls for Christmas. Sunday's ninth annual Winter Dreams Tour of Homes sponsored by the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas will show you how to put it all together in 13 elegant homes located in Washington and Benton counties.

Proceeds will be used to fund Junior League charities. This year marks the most homes the league has ever placed on tour.

Becky Koonce, Junior League of Northwest Arkansas president, said the organization was fortunate.

"Homeowners have shown generous support for the junior league. Some homeowners have enjoyed going on previous tours and offered for their home to be placed on the tour."

One of the homes sure to inspire a few decor ideas will be the Wal-Mart sponsored home of Nathan and Maria Fairchild.

Each and every room will be decorated for Christmas with a different theme. The home will showcase 13 Christmas trees, and all decor used will be available at Wal-Mart stores.

"The backyard is supposed to be wonderful. My husband has already seen it and said it looked like Disneyland back there," said Amanda Rager, Winter Dreams Tour of Homes chairwoman.

The homes on this year's tour demonstrate everything from the latest in home design to a treasured favorite located in a historic district.

A Washington County must-see is the Mount Nord home of Jan and Stacey Sturner, Rager said. Built in 1906 in a neoclassical design, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Another home Rager said will be a standout is the home of Terry and Kimberly Harper. She is an interior decorator and has consulted with some of the other homeowners listed on this year's tour.

And the home of Jay and Christine Howard will feature decor by I.O Metro. Jay Howard is one of the owners there.

While the tour will appeal most to the ladies, men will also have something to keep them interested along the way. The home of George and Cheryl Westmoreland in Rogers will open its garage doors to reveal George's stellar cars. His collection includes a 1961 Bentley, a 1967 Corvette and a 1969 Jaguar XKE and a 1961 Corvette that is a member of the Corvette Hall of Fame and is housed in its own private room separate from the home's main three-car garage.

Although cookies and coffee will not be offered at most houses, one Benton County stop on the tour will have Starbucks coffee available to guests as they exit.

Cooks needn't go home empty-handed, either. "Add Another Place Setting," the league's recently published cookbook, will be available for purchase at select homes on the tour.

The cookbook contains more than 200 selections offering several family recipes of entrepreneurs who helped this area thrive, including the Waltons and the Hunts.

Tickets for the Winter Dreams Tour of Homes are $20 and can be purchased at each home the day of the tour. Proceeds from this event will help fund various projects sponsored by the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas.

Tickets can also be purchased prior to the event at these locations: Romance Diamond Company, Fayetteville; I.O. Metro, Bentonville, Rogers, and Fayetteville; Copper Pig, Fayetteville; 3 Monkeys, Rogers and Fayetteville; So Inviting, Fayetteville; Northwest Arkansas Mall Center Court Desk, Fayetteville; Abide Furniture, Springdale; and select Arvest Bank branches.

Proceeds from this event will help fund various projects sponsored by the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas. To help meet the needs in the communities, the league focuses on domestic violence awareness, education and prevention. Partner agencies include long-term shelters, Restoration Village and Havenwood, as well as Children's House, a therapeutic daycare for preschool-age children who have been victims of abuse or neglect.
