Talk Business Quarterly (TBQ), a new magazine publication owned and produced by Roby Brock, has launched in Arkansas.

The quarterly magazine features reporting on business and political issues in the Natural State as well as exclusive interviews with established and emerging leaders, community profiles, and analyses of economic data at state and local levels.

Brock, based in Little Rock, also manages and provides business and political news for www.talkbusiness.net. He also produces and a television show, "Talk Business," which airs at 9 a.m. each Sunday on KFTA-Fox 24 in the Fort Smith and Northwest Arkansas television markets. Brock also has a content partnership agreement with The Times Record and The Morning News of Northwest Arkansas.

The first issue of TBQ has several articles of potential interest to western and Northwest Arkansas, including an executive roundtable interview with Jim Lindsey of Lindsey & Associates Real Estate, Arkansas Farm Bureau President Stanley Reed, and Steve Williams of Maverick USA, a Little Rock-based trucking company, and a feature story on Fort Smith-based Baldor Electric Co.

The premier issue of TBQ also reveals the results of a poll of 608 Arkansas voters on business and political attitudes in the state. Among the findings:

* 72 percent of Arkansans rate their personal economic situation as good.

* 35 percent say that one year from now they will be better off; 17 percent say they will be worse off; and 46 percent say their economic condition will be about the same.

* 46 percent say the state's economy is heading in the right direction; 35 percent say it is on the wrong track.

The poll, conducted by Global Strategy Group's Arkansas operations, also analyzes attitudes towards growing jobs locally, major issues facing the economy, and a ranking of Arkansas as a place to do business compared to surrounding states.
