Registration Under Way For Fincher Run
Annual Youth Event Offers Fun Way To Learn About Exercising Safely

ROGERS - Registration is open for the Kendrick Fincher 10th annual Youth Run.
The run will begin at 9 a.m. April 26 in Rogers at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade.
The run is for children in kindergarten through the eighth grade.
Children in grades 5-8 will run/walk approximately 1 or 1 1/2 miles, and children in grades kindergarten through four will run/walk approximately 1/2 mile. Run packet pickup will begin at 8 a.m. with pre-run warm-ups beginning at 8:45.
The Kendrick Fincher Memorial Foundation is a nonprofit foundation whose mission is to promote proper hydration and heat illness prevention. This run emphasizes the benefits of beginning exercise early in life and proper hydration and is a fun way for children to learn about exercising safely.
It is made possible from sponsor donations at no charge to the child participants. Parents who wish to register and run with their children in a non-competitive manner will receive a run T-shirt and a water bottle for a $10 fee. Parents who register and run with their children will be eligible for a special family door prize.

The first 600 runners will receive a run packet with a T-shirt, assorted product samples and coupons from sponsors. All participants will receive a water bottle and be eligible to win door prizes at the completion of the run.
A Pre-Run Power Rally is on April 25 at the Northwest Arkansas Convention Center in Springdale. Advance tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children in kindergarten through eighth grades, preschool children are admitted at no charge, and there is a $25 maximum per family. At the door, tickets will be $10 for adults and $5 for children. There will be food, games, crafts, a silent auction and runners will have the opportunity to pick up their T-shirts that evening.
The run director is Dr. George Schaefer with Mercy Health System.
