LITTLE ROCK - Three construction workers, one whose body has been recovered and two presumed dead after falling from a bridge into the Arkansas River on Wednesday, were identified Friday.

A spokesman for their employer, Oscar Renda Contracting of Roanoke, Texas, identified the men as Juan Flores, 32, and Eleazar Lopez, 30, both of Dallas, and Wulfrano Ruiz, 45, of Irving, Texas.

Flores, Lopez and Ruiz were working on a water-line project on the underside of the Interstate 430 bridge between Little Rock and North Little Rock when the scaffolding platform they were standing on fell about 100 feet into the Arkansas River shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday, Arkansas authorities said.

Ruiz's body was pulled from the river about eight hours after the accident. Flores and Lopez remained missing Friday.

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident.

"All families have been notified and we continue to work closely with them to provide them with whatever they need during this very difficult time," Corey Wells, controller-treasurer for Oscar Renda Contracting, said in e-mail.

A memorial fund has been established at Fort Worth National Bank in Fort Worth, Texas, to benefit the men's families, Wells said.
