EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. - An Arkansas woman formerly from the Metro East should spend two years in federal prison for welfare fraud in St. Clair County.

That's the ruling of a federal judge in the case of Angela Davis, now of Jonesboro.

Last October, Davis admitted that between early 2001 and April 2006, she concealed her husband's presence in her household in order to get nearly $34,000 in Social Security benefits to which she was not entitled.

Davis, formerly of Centreville, also filed false food stamp applications and fraudulently collected $5,279 in VA benefits intended for her husband.

She has agreed to repay the food stamp program $22,188.
