Basketball
• ARKANSAS LADY RAZORBACKS: Arkansas women's coach Tom Collen will host a shooting camp for boys and girls in grades 2-12 on July 25.
Football
• ROGERS: The Rogers Mountaineers football camp will be held July 31-Aug. 1 at the new Rogers High School football facility and stadium. Cost is $60 and includes camp T-shirt and Gatorade. The camp is for players entering grades 5-8. The camp begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at noon each day. Contact the school at 636-2202.
Golf
• FIRST TEE: The First Tee of Northwest Arkansas will hold a camp at the Stonebridge Meadows Golf Club for youth ages 12-17 from July 28-Aug. 6. Registration for the camps will be $100. Currently enrolled The First Tee participants can register for $75. Camp Registrations will be limited to 24 participants. Tennis
• PINNACLE CC: Pinnacle Country Club will be hosting the Farm Bureau Insurance Junior Tennis Camp on July 28-29. The camp will run from 8:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. both Monday and Tuesday. The camp is for ages 7 and up and woulde specially be a great warm-up for all high school tennis players in the area. Lunch will be provided both days. Volleyball
• ROGERS/HERITAGE: An elementary and junior high volleyball camp will be held July 28-30 at Rogers High. The elementary camp (grades 1-6) will run from 9-11:30 a.m., while the junior high camp (grades 7-9) will run from 1-4 p.m. Registration for the elementary camp is $45 and $50 for the junior high camp. Wrestling
• BENTONVILLE: The "Nation's Best" wrestling camp will be held July 25-26 from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Barker Middle School for 7-12th grade athletes. The cost is $80 for Bentonville wrestlers. Contact Camp Director Dan Beckwith (417) 583-2160 or (417) 379-9020.
BASEBALL
• 12U TRYOUTS: A 12-Under competitive baseball team will be holding two tryouts in the month of August. To be eligible for the team, a player cannot turn 13 before May 1, 2009. Contact Don Arrick at 903-4940 or Marc Bryant at 366-2752.
• PLAYERS SOUGHT: NW Arkansas competitive baseball team is looking for experienced players for the 2009 season. Prospective players cannot turn 10 before May 1, 2009. • HOMESCHOOL MEETING: The Knights Homeschool basketball organization will have a registration & informational meeting for the 2008-09 season on July 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the Jones Center for Families. • SONICS TRYOUTS: The Springdale Basketball Association Sonics will hold tryouts for the coming season for players in grades 2-7. • BENTONVILLE TRYOUTS: The Bentonville Tigers will hold tryouts for the coming season on Aug. 7 for players in 10th through 12th grades. FOOTBALL
• BENTONVILLE: Practices will begin Aug. 4 for Bentonville Black/Lincoln teams. In order to participate, athletes must have a physical on file with the school district. The practices are mandatory for athletes who wish to play this season. Practice times are: Black team - equipment checkout Thursday, July 31 from 8-11 a.m. at Tiger Stadium. Practices are 8-10 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. on Monday-Thursday and 8-10 a.m. on Friday at the Tiger Soccer/Track complex. • SPRINGDALE SIGNUPS: Springdale Youth Center Youth Football registration will be held the following dates: Grades 4-5 through Friday with equipment pickup on Aug. 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $60 and a physical is required. • SEASON TICKETS: Springdale schools football season tickets will be on sale for reserved ticket holders through Friday at the district's Athletic Office, 509 E. Emma Avenue. Springdale High's tickets are available from 8 a.m. to noon for $50 per seat. Springdale Har-Ber tickets are available from 1-4 p.m. for $60 per seat. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Monday, July 28 at 10 a.m. at the Athletic Office. Tickets are not available at the schools. Call 750-1680.
• ROGERS SIGNUPS: The Rogers Community-School Recreation Association registration for the 2008 Youth Tackle Football League will be taken until Aug. 9 at the Rogers Activity Center. There will be two leagues offered: 4th-5th grade and 6th-7th grade. The registration fee is $50 per player (RAC Membership Required). Each player must show proof of a current physical (2008), before equipment will be given out.

• MAVERICKS TOURNAMENT: The Arkansas Mavericks will host a four-person scramble on Aug. 23 at Valley View Golf Course in Farmington with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Cost is $300 per team and lunch is provided. Deadline to register is Aug. 20. Tournament will be flighted and will have cash prizes for longest drives, closest to the pins and longest putts. • UAFS: The Arkansas-Fort Smith Golf Tournament benefiting the athletic scholarship fund will be Monday, Aug. 25, at Hardscrabble Country Club in Fort Smith. • HOCKEY CAMP: A week long hockey camp will be held July 28-Aug. 1 at the Jones Center in Springdale. The cost is $265 per player. • FITNESS FOR FUN: Registration for the fall session of Fitness For Fun is now open. Fitness For Fun is a wellness program for the University of Arkansas community and surrounding area. Membership includes fitness testing, stress test (EKG) and blood lipid profile, 10-week exercise program with personal training, program orientation, HPER building membership and access to HPER fitness center, courts, pools, etc. Fees are $215 for a full-time student and $235 for faculty or others. • RUN FOR THE GRAPES: The 12th Annual Run for the Grapes presented by First Federal Bank and the Fayetteville Tri-Sport Athletic Clubwill be held on Aug. 9 at 7 a.m. Pre-registration prior to Aug. 4 is $15 for the 5K Run/Walk and $8 for the Kids Fun Run. Pre-registration after Aug. 4 is $20 for the 5K Run/Walk and $10 for the Kids Fun Run. Students or Tri-Sport Members receive a $3 discount. The event features a 5K Run/Walk and a Mile Kids Fun Run. • ROGERS LEAGUE: The Rogers Community-School Recreation Association registration for the 2008 Youth Fall Soccer League will be taken until Aug. 9 at the Rogers Activity Center. Children ages 4-17 are eligible to participate. Children must turn 4 by July 31, 2008 to participate. The registration fees are as follows: Little Kicksters (4 yr. olds) and Under 6 ($40), Under 7 through Under 12 ($50), and Under 14 through Under 18 ($100). Each participant must have a current RAC membership ($20). The membership is current for one (1) year from the date of purchase.
SOFTBALL
• FAYETTEVILLE LEAGUE: The Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Dept. is taking registration for the Adult Fall League. Cost is $425 per team for 15 regular season games and postseason tournament. • FALL PREP LEAGUE: The Fayetteville Lady Dawg Fastpitch Booster Club is putting on a Fall Fastpitch League, which will run from Sept 15-Oct 23. Individual sign-ups will be accepted through August 15, or players can sign up in person at Lady 'Dawg Yard on July 31, Aug. 7, or Aug. 14 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. or sign up online at ladydawgs.org, Teams will play at least 14 games and be put together in a manner as to promote the best level of competition. TENNIS
• ROGERS HIGH: The first practice for the Rogers High tennis team will take place on Aug. 11 from 4-5:30 p.m. at the tennis court behind the high school. Students must have completed a physical, must have a signed consent form and must wear proper attire. Contact Coach Cowan at 636-8088.
• JUNIOR LEAGUE: The Northwest Arkansas Junior Tennis League runs through Aug. 27 at Bella Vista Tennis Center. Play will be on Wednesdays and the time is TBD. The cost will be $15 per participant.
