Duggars Named State Parents 2008

LITTLE ROCK - Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar of Tontitown were named Saturday to represent Arkansas on National Parents Day.
Congress established National Parents Day as the fourth Sunday in July.
Bruce Biggin of Little Rock, chairman of the National Parents Day Council of Arkansas, said the group names a State Parents of the Year to represent the state and also names Arkansas Parents of the Year to honor exemplary parents.
Two couples named Arkansas Parents of the Year this year were: Mark and Betty Peterson and Ira and Shanti Baker. Both couples are from North Little Rock.
The Duggars and their 17 children attended a ceremony at the state Capitol to honor parents. Michelle, who is pregnant with her 18th child, and her family sang songs.
