From Four Wheels To Two
By The Morning NewsFAYETTEVILLE - Forrest Williams of Lowell bought a motorcycle in June to avoid gassing up his Dodge pickup.
"I figured I couldn't get better than 14 miles a gallon. A bike would get about 50 at least," Williams said.
He and his wife talked about the issue before making the purchase at Devinney Motorsports in Springdale.
She pushed for a scooter, for safety. He pushed for the motorcycle.
"The dealer here helped me kind of talk her into getting a bike. He said I can go just about as fast on that scooter as I can on the bike. The scooter can go 100 miles an hour," he said.
He said he rides it everyday when the weather is nice. A backpack lets him take what he needs while he rides around.
"I fill up every week, $400 maybe a month on gas for my truck versus $40 a month."
That savings makes a difference for his family, he said.
