HARDY -- A woman's body was found in a home near Hardy and her boyfriend is being held by investigators.

Hardy Police Chief Ernie Rose said area residents told him that the woman's boyfriend had told others that the woman had died. Because no funeral home knew of the death and the coroner had no knowledge, Rose went to the home of Sarrel Stark, 43, and Theresa Kosik, 43.

Kosik was dead inside and Stark's story prompted an investigation, Rose said.

"It's a homicide investigation," he said. "He told me a story that just didn't pan out."

Rose said he has known the couple for "years and years and years. She never gave me any trouble. She was a pretty good old gal, and he was nice as he could be when he wasn't drinking."

Rose said that, because of the ongoing investigation, he could offer no details about where her body was found nor how she died. Stark was held in the Fulton County jail.
