    The Servant Leadership School of Northwest Arkansas begins classes next week at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fayetteville.

    Classes include Servant Leadership I, Servant Leadership II and Communion: Practice & Presence.

    Other classes are "How to Avoid Marrying a Jerk/Jerkette" led by Bill Bailey; "Five Wishes -- A Living Will With Heart" led by Lou Sharp and Christy Pollock of Circle of Life Hospice; "Reversity," a course on reversing racism led by David Duerr of Ozark Guidance; and more on Thomas Merton, Jungian psychology and walking the labyrinth.

    A community worship service sponsored by the Siloam Springs ministerial alliance is slated for 11 a.m. Sept. 14 at Panther Stadium on the campus of Siloam Springs High School.

    More than 16 congregations will join for a single worship service. Dr. Chip Pollard, president of John Brown University, will give the keynote address. A community choir and a community orchestra will provide music.

    The Children's Ministry at Bella Vista Christian Church hosts a free teacher training from 9 a.m. to noon today. Teachers, assistants and those interested in working with children are invited to attend.

    Tuesday morning women's Bible study resumes at 9 a.m. this week with a new session from "Life Lessons with Max Lucado" from the book of Psalms.

    The Children's Ministry begins a new program: "Exploration Creation" from 6 to 7:30 p.m. each Wednesday. The Student Ministry meets for "Blend" at the same time.

    The First Presbyterian Church in Springdale starts fall church school classes at 9:15 a.m. Sunday.

    Adult classes include "The Present Word," "The Last Lecture" and "Daniel -- Things to Come." High school youth will discuss "Contemporary Music, Contemporary Faith" and middle school/junior high youth will study "The Thoughtful Christian."

    The Children's Choir program for children from first through fifth grades will resume at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The sessions will continue through Nov. 2.

    Highlands Church in Bella Vista hosts a public safety demonstration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Riordan Hall. The city of Bella Vista and the POA will explain services available in case of emergency or disaster. Police and firemen will provide information. Various pieces of equipment will be available for viewing. Refreshments will be served.

    A breakfast meeting of the United Methodist Women is slated for 8:30 a.m. Monday. Angie Hansen will discuss "Angels Among Us."

    Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bentonville hosts Rally Day this Sunday. Children and youth Sunday school classes will start back at 10:15 a.m. An adult lectionary study and a small group book study: "What's so Amazing about Grace?" by Philip Yancey, will begin at the same time.

    A weekly community supper begins at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Junior and senior high school youth will gather at 6:30 p.m. for confirmation classes, Bible Study and activities.

    First Christian Church in Eureka Springs presents an "Awake America" rally at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

    Cecil Todd, founder and president of Revival Fires Ministry, will speak. The Texans will sing.

    The nondenominational rally is open to all.

    Parish youth at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Bentonville will join others in the 7th through 12th grades at 5 p.m. today for Mass, dinner and live music at St. Vincent de Paul in Rogers.

    The Rosary Group prays at 7 p.m. Wednesdays in the chapel near the main altar. All are welcome.

    The sacrament of Reconciliation (confession) will be available 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sept. 13.

    The Marvin Gaspard Trio from Houston leads the third annual Jazz Communion Service at First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville at 10:15 a.m. Sept. 14.

    Women's Bible Study starts at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Men's Bible Study meets at 6:30 a.m. Friday. The current emphasis is the Gospel of John.

    Unity Church of Fayetteville hosts 11 Days of Global Unity: A Season of Interfaith Celebration from Thursday through Sept. 21.

    Thursday marks the 15th annual Unity World Day of Prayer. Sept. 21 is the 27th annual International Day of Peace. This year's theme is "Celebrating Oneness, Healing the World."

    The purpose of the celebration is to unite people in prayer and other activities that promote peace in the world. Unity will host a prayer vigil, a Spiritual Cinema, a day-long meditation retreat, candle lighting ceremonies, a meditation workshop by local Tibetan monks, chanting and meditation, Dances of Universal Peace, a bonfire and drumming, a family workshop on how to make prayer flags and more.

    First United Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville presents a lecture on depression at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 17.

    Travis Jenkins and David Williams, who worked together at Ozark Guidance for 30 years, will speak. The lecture is titled "Depression: Situational, Biological and Spiritual: Seeking Understanding."

    Faith Regular Baptist Church in Elm Springs hosts The Gospel Echoes at 6 p.m. Sept. 14. Refreshments and fellowship will follow.

    Word of Life Fellowship in Bentonville welcomes evangelist Yan Venter during 10 a.m. services Sept. 14 and for healing services at 6 p.m. Sept 14 and 7 p.m. Sept. 15.

    Venter is originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, and moved to the United States in 1985. He calls people to a greater awareness of a supernatural God.

    The Christian Women's Club of Bella Vista hosts its monthly meeting and brunch at First United Methodist Church on Tuesday.

    The theme is "Celebrate the Seasons Bazaar." Cost is $10. Come dressed for your favorite season.

    Doors open from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. with a silent auction and bake sale. The brunch and live auction begin at 9:30 a.m.

    Carol Jean Haigh will speak on "The Art of Shopping."

    Four workshops will be presented. The Rev. Laura Fleetwood will speak on "The Spirituality of Aging." Will Fletcher will present "When the Game is Over, It's All Put Back In the Box." The Rev. Stewart Smith will talk about "Spiritual Lessons of Baseball." Dawn Scarbrough from the College of the Ozarks also will speak.

    Six Northwest Arkansas museums will have displays. The Christian Book Outlet will have items for sale at discount prices.
