GREENLAND -- Weather concerns have forced the postponement of a benefit concert scheduled Sunday in Greenland.

Paula Schoonover, a committee member who organized the concert, said Friday the concert, featuring the Little O' Opry Band and Francis Henderson and Company, will be rescheduled at a later date.

The postponement was announced because of weather forecasts calling for strong wind and heavy rain throughout Northwest Arkansas as remnants of Hurricane Ike move through.

The concert was planned as a benefit to help the financially-ailing Greenland School District which was taken over by the Arkansas Department of Education in June because of continuing money problems.

A committee of parents and patrons is organized to aid the fundraising efforts.
