FAYETTEVILLE -- The path of Hurricane Ike continued to cloud the status of the Arkansas-Texas game on Wednesday, but Razorbacks coaches and players said they'll continue to prepare as if they're playing anyway.
"You can't take any other approach," defensive coordinator Willy Robinson said. "That's all you can do."
A decision regarding the game, scheduled to kick off at 2:30 p.m., is expected sometime today. Hurricane Ike is projected to hit the Texas coast line Saturday morning and move through the Austin area later in the day.
Arkansas released a statement Wednesday saying the schools continue to discuss contingency plans.
Both Arkansas and Texas have similar open weeks on Sept. 27, meaning the game could be moved to that date if necessary. However, an annual music festival that draws thousands to the Austin area is scheduled the same weekend and could complicate matters.
Texas did move a soccer game from Friday to Thursday in preparation for the storm. But Arkansas' release said no decision regarding the football game had been made.
"I want to play," Arkansas defensive tackle Ernest Mitchell said. "I don't want a postponed game.
"We're all ready to play. We're ready to go there and show what we're about."
