ROGERS -- The Army Corps of Engineers has postponed the Beaver Lake Shoreline Cleanup that was scheduled to be held Sept. 27 due to high water.

The agency has tentatively rescheduled the volunteer event for the spring of 2009.

Beaver Lake is near the top of its flood pool, and accessing the shoreline is quite difficult in many locations. Also, the high lake level would require volunteers who use boats to navigate through places that could harbor underwater hazards such as submerged structures and flooded road ends, according to a news release.

Officials said they prefer to wait to when the lake level is closer to conservation pool.
