SPECIAL TO THE MORNING NEWS
The Springdale School District is guided by four "Pillars of Excellence" that are necessary for us to serve all students to the highest-possible level: student achievement, safety, diversity and partnerships. Our paramount goal is to create engaged, enthusiastic, lifelong learners ... students who will achieve to their highest personal potential and who will be prepared to be productive and successful citizens of our community, our country, and the global society.
Student achievement is front and foremost in our efforts, and knowing that students are individuals, we strive to personalize our instructional program to acknowledge the students' individual strengths and abilities, talents, interests and learning styles.
Safety is another top focus. Students must feel safe, secure, and nurtured in their learning environment. They must feel respected and worthy. Only if those factors are evident can students achieve to their highest potential academically.
The diversity of our student population inspires and motivates our instructional efforts. We are here to serve all students, and we know that every child can learn. Again, students are individuals, each unique and special. They have different talents and abilities. They learn in different ways and at different speeds. They have different backgrounds and come from different cultures. We embrace and address all of those differences with teaching techniques and instructional strategies that personalize the learning to the learner. Our school community is enriched and enhanced by the diversity of our students.
In all of our efforts, successful partnerships provide significant assistance. We have always been able to count on the Springdale community to support our educational program. We are deeply appreciative of the moral support, financial support, volunteer efforts, inspiration and insight provided so generously by our Springdale parents, patrons, civic groups and businesses. Our citizens unite behind our pursuit of educational excellence and help our educators and students every day in untold ways. The new Partners in Education organization is yet one more exciting avenue through which Springdale patrons are serving our students and enhancing our efforts as educators.
Student achievement ... safety ... diversity ... partnerships -- those are the "Four Pillars of Excellence" that focus our efforts and guide our planning. They unite us in our dedication and commitment to "teach them all" and to serve every student as the unique, special and priceless person he or she is.
