Students at Rogers charter schools, the Northwest Arkansas Academy of Fine Arts and the Benton County School of the Arts, are sponsoring the fiddle competition from noon to 4 p.m. today.
Fiddle Fest will be held on the Frisco Stage, or moved to the Northwest Arkansas Academy of Fine Arts at Fifth and Poplar streets downtown in case of inclement weather.
There is no entry fee but the top three winners in each age group get cash prizes.
Age divisions include:
• Little Chicks, 12 years old and younger
• Snares, 13 to 19 years old
• Rockhoppers, 20 to 49 years old
• Emperors, 50 years old and older.

Little Chicks must perform one song in the solo category. Other age groups must perform one fiddle piece and one waltz.
Each age group includes two categories, individuals and groups with at least two people, with at least one playing a fiddle.
Fiddle Fest also will feature a silent auction, bake sale and food concessions.
