• Karen Roughton and Jill Vaughan have joined The Mane Attraction salon in Bentonville. Roughton is a cosmetologist specializing in cuts, color and perms. Vaughan is a nail technician specializing in acylic and silk nails, overlays and spa manicures and pedicures. The Mane Attraction has been in business more than 27 years.
• Bill Elizondo has joined the corporate operations of America's Car-Mart as director of collection practices and review. A native of San Antonio, Elizondo has 18 years of experience in the "buy-here, pay-here"" industry, including management experience for Norwest Wells Fargo Car Financial. America's Car-Mart operates 91 automotive dealerships in eight states and is the largest publicly held automotive retailer in the United States focused exclusively on the "buy-here, pay-here" segment of the used car market.
• The Arkansas Realtors Association empaneled its 2009 officers during the group's 84th Annual Convention in Little Rock on Sept. 8. Among the new members are President Elect Mike Henry of Fayetteville; Board of Directors Ron Stinchcomb of Prairie Grove (Zone 4 three-year term), Bob Downum of Springdale (Zone 4 two-year term); and Doyle Yates of Fayetteville, NAR Director from ARA.
• Misty Martin Dennis, ASID, an interior designer with Julie Wait Designs, Inc. in Rogers, has earned the title of registered interior designer in the state of Arkansas. A registered interior designer is a design professional who is recognized as qualified by education, experience and examination to practice interior design services including preparation of working drawings, and documents relating to nonload-bearing interior construction, materials, finishes, space planning, furnishings, fixtures and accessories. Dennis graduated in 2006 from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor's degree in interior design. She recently passed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification examination after completing required experience in the field. She is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Design.
• Dave Roberts, ASLA, will spearhead the newly established planning department as vice president of planning for Crafton Tull Sparks of Rogers. Roberts has a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture from the University of Arkansas. He is a member of the Arkansas State Board of Landscape Architects, the University of Arkansas School of Architecture Advisory Board, and has served as President of the American Society of Landscape Architects Arkansas Chapter. Crafton Tull Sparks has 335 employees with offices in Conway, Little Rock, Rogers. Russellville, Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Wichita, Kan. Founded in 1963, they provide architectural, engineering, interior design, landscape architecture, surveying and planning services across the nation.
