• Daila Siemens, a cake artist with Rick's Bakery in Fayetteville, placed second at the recent Retail Bakers Association's Fifth Annual Creative Decorating Competition held in Atlantic City. Siemens' individual category awards were in wedding cakes, floral cakes, custom designs, and fondant, shapes. The two-day professional competition requires decorators to demonstrate skill and creativity in five different decorating categories in front of a live audience. Competitors are chosen by the Retail Bakers Association affiliates either through regional contests or committees and are considered the best in their area. Each contestant has the opportunity to compete for the coveted Pillsbury Grand Champion Trophy; gold, silver, and bronze medals in each of the five categories; more than $5,000 in prizes; and a People's Choice Award.
• Amy Mills, a commercial sales & leasing broker with Steve Fineberg & Associates, Inc., of Bentonville, was recently awarded the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation by the CCIM Institute, one of the leading commercial real estate associations in the world. Mills was among the more than 100 people who earned the designation awarded to commercial real estate professionals upon successful completion of a graduate-level education curriculum and presentation of a portfolio of qualifying industry experience. The curriculum addresses: financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis and investment analysis.
• Pediatrician Pamela A. McMichael, M.D., has joined the medical staff of Northwest Health System and is establishing a new practice, The Children's Clinic at Bentonville. In practice since 1997, McMichael comes to Northwest from Joplin, Mo., where she has been in group practice for the past three years. She has practiced in Massachusetts, Missouri and Arkansas. She received her medical education at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston and served an internship and a residency in Pediatrics at Boston Floating Hospital for Children/New England Medical Center, also in Boston.
