• Larson's Language Center has been selected for the 2008 Best of Rogers Award in the Language Schools category by the U.S. Local Business Association. The USLBA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USLBA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community. The USLBA is a Washington, D.C.,-based organization funded by local businesses operating in towns, large and small, across America. The purpose of USLBA is to promote local business through public relations, marketing and advertising.
• Terravista Landscapes of Bentonville has been awarded the Overall Safety Achievement Award in the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) annual Safety Recognition Awards Program. The program reflects PLANET's dedication to creating and maintaining safe work environments in the green industry and is designed to reward green industry service provider companies who consistently demonstrate their commitment to safety. Companies that enter PLANET's safety awards program are required to submit a copy of their OSHA 300A Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses report and their year-end vehicle insurance claims summary report. These reports are used in determining award recipients.
• Advisor Alliance, LLC of Rogers has been selected by Goldline Research as one of The Most Dependable Wealth Managers of The Southeast United States for 2008. Advisor Alliance, LLC was able to differentiate itself in a candidate pool with an average client-to-advisor ratio of one advisor for every 73 clients, median assets under management of $250 million and an average of 23 years of experience. Advisor Alliance LLC is an SEC-registered investment adviser providing investment management to individuals, pension and profit sharing plans, trusts, estates, charitable organizations, corporations, and business entities utilizing proprietary asset allocation models and investment methodology.
• A Grand Opening Celebration of the First Federal Bank's 20th full-service branch and its first location in Lowell will be held on Friday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to 4p.m. A ribbon-cutting ceremony led by the Lowell Chamber of Commerce will commence at 10 a.m. The new office is located in Bloomington Crossing at 225 N. Bloomington St. and features 2,900 square feet of retail bank space, a 1,200-square-foot training/community room available to community groups and businesses, and six retail units available for lease. The grand opening is open to the public and will feature refreshments and beverages from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Fayetteville received the Outstanding Performance in Clinical Excellence Award during HealthSouth's Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet in Colorado Springs, Colo. HealthSouth Fayetteville is one of only five hospitals in HealthSouth's nationwide network of more than 90 rehabilitation hospitals to receive the award recognizing outstanding clinical performance and quality of patient care services. HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Fayetteville, a joint venture partner of Washington Regional Medical Center, is a 60-bed inpatient hospital that provides a higher level of rehabilitative care to patients who are recovering from stroke and other neurological disorders, brain and spinal cord injury, amputations and orthopedic, cardiac and pulmonary conditions.
