Bridges to Wellness needs portable commodes, wheelchairs, braces and hospital beds for an equipment-loan program that helps residents in need, according to a news release Monday.

The organization plans to begin a Durable Medical Equipment Loaner Closet program next year. The program will reuse medical equipment, including crutches and shower benches, which will be loaned to residents in western Benton and Washington counties in Northwest Arkansas and Adair, Delaware and Eastern Cherokee counties in Oklahoma. All donations must be in good condition. New items are also acceptable.

Bridges to Wellness, located in Siloam Springs, is a nonprofit Rural Health Network funded by a three-year federal grant. The organization works to resolve rural health care issues through collaborative community efforts. For more information, contact Bridges to Wellness at 549-2639 or at www.ssbtw.com.
