FAYETTEVILLE -- Emma Lavy accomplished just about as much as one could deem possible on the high school golf level. A four-time all-state selection, four-time all-conference pick and two-time state medalist, Lavy has done it all in her four years at Fayetteville.

Now she'll look to do the same just down the road.

After capping an illustrious Lady Bulldogs career by guiding her team to a fourth-straight state championship this fall, Lavy took the next step in her individual game Wednesday when she signed to play college golf at Arkansas.

"It's weird," Lavy said. "I don't feel like this should be here yet. I remember my sister being here signing five years ago. It's just fun to have it in concrete and on paper."

Joining a growing list of Lavy sisters who have gone on to play college golf, Emma Lavy is perhaps the most decorated yet. In her freshman season at Fayetteville, she captured overall medalist honors and did so again this past season.

As one of top-rated junior players in Arkansas -- and in the region -- Lavy also figures to add to the long line of standout golfers who have gone on to be Razorbacks.

"I would say she's the best (to play at FHS)," Fayetteville golf coach Kyle Adams said. "There's been some good ones. Lisa Cornwell was really good and Jodi Sweetser was really accomplished. But Emma is the best I've ever coached. And not that it has anything to do with me, it's just her work ethic and her family. That's what they do, and her work ethic is just unbelievable."

Lavy said there were other schools who inquired about her services. But for her, Arkansas was the pick all along.

"I definitely looked at other schools," Lavy said. "I just always knew I wanted to go here because I just loved it. I had my family here and I just loved the coaches and the family atmosphere. So I just loved it here."
