• Expansion Solutions magazine has honored the Springdale Chamber of Commerce in its 2008 Awards of Excellence rankings. The magazine included the Chamber in its Top 5 in the Food Processing category. The award recognizes organizations that have demonstrated exceptional success in the recruiting, retaining and growing of businesses in the award sector. Food processing has and continues to be a major component of Springdale's economy. In addition to the recent Tyson Foods Discovery Center and training center expansion, Cargill, Inc., completed a significant expansion in 2008 to facilitate company growth.

• Tim Janacek of Rogers was voted "Builder of the Year" by the membership of Northwest Arkansas Home Builders Association. Janacek, president of Janacek Construction, a 21-year-old building and remodeling firm, qualified for this achievement in a number of ways, including his overall professionalism, quality of workmanship, work and business ethics, community service and service to the NWAHBA.
