Arkansas center Jonathan Luigs will represent the Razorbacks at the 2009 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., later this month.
Kevin McDermond, the Senior Bowl's public relations director, said Luigs -- the 2007 Rimington Award winner -- has accepted an invitation to participate in the game. The Senior Bowl is regarded as an important event for NFL Draft eligible seniors. Teams are coached by NFL staffs and practices are watched closely by scouts and front office personnel from every team in the league.
Luigs, who will play for the South team, is one of five centers to accept Senior Bowl invitations. The list also includes: Alabama's Antoine Caldwell, California's Alex Mack, Oregon's Max Unger and Louisville's Eric Wood. McDermond said Wood is slated to play guard in the game.
Players will report to Mobile on Jan. 18 to begin practice. The Senior Bowl will be played Jan. 24 at Mobile's Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
Kickoff time is 6 p.m. and it will be televised by the NFL Network.
