Earns Degree
Mary E. Green, a resident of Prairie Grove, has earned an Associate in Science in Nursing degree from Excelsior College.
Excelsior College is an accredited, private, nonprofit institution that focuses on the needs of working adults. Its primary mission is to increase access to a college degree for adult learners by removing obstacles to their educational goals.
JBU Receives
CASE Award
John Brown University recently received a 2008 CASE Circle of Excellence Award and the distinction of being named among only 5 private comprehensive colleges and universities nationwide for best overall performance in fundraising and creative programming.
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education considered 766 institutions for awards in a variety of categories. In all, only 34 colleges and universities received Circle of Excellence Awards for Overall Performance in their respective categories. JBU is the only university in Arkansas to be recognized with this honor.
Along with JBU, other recognized institutions include Johns Hopkins University in the Private Research/Doctoral Institution category, Purdue University in the Public Research/Doctoral Institution category, Colgate University in the Private Liberal Arts Institution category, and the United States Naval Academy in the Public Liberal Arts Institution category.
“I am thankful for a creative and hard working development team, and the numerous alumni, friends, foundations and corporations that give so generously to strengthen JBU,” said Jim Krall, vice president of university advancement. “This award recognizes the contributions of those individuals to make JBU what it is today.”
The Council for Advancement and Support of Educationis one of the largest international associations of education institutions, serving nearly 3,400 universities, colleges, schools and related organizations in 60 countries.
The CASE Circle of Excellence awards program recognizes outstanding work in communications and marketing, alumni relations, advancement services and fundraising. Judging for the awards was done by peer professionals at schools, colleges and universities as well as by professionals outside education. To be chosen for this award the institution must perform highly in the area of fundraising results and creative programming.
