Class Set For Parents
The Northwest Arkansas Child Care Resource and Referral Center is presenting a free parenting class from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Jones Center for Families, room 112.
The presentation, "Drug-free Approach to Treating Learning and Behavioral Problems -- The Foundation for Wellness Professionals," will educate the audience on the causes of learning and behavioral problems.

Child Care Courses Offered
The Benton and Washington counties' Cooperative Extension Service have available a new, free set of classes for early childhood educators and others interested in learning more about young children.
The classes are part of a program called The Best Care. Ten hours of lessons will be provided on topics such as Teaching Preschoolers about Money; Early Childhood Goes Green; Because I Saw it on TV: Food Marketing and Eating Behaviors; Strong Bones Start in Childhood; What's in Your Classroom: Children's Environmental Health; Apple Juice or Air Freshener: Can Children Tell the Difference?; Happiness Within Reach; and Something Better than Fighting: Finding Solutions Together.

AARP Slates Driving Course
A Driver Safety Program class sponsored by AARP will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at the Fayetteville Public Library, 401 W. Mountain St.
These classes are especially designed for drivers over the age of 55 to assist them in becoming better drivers by providing useful safety tips that will compensate for the age-related changes experienced by older drivers.
A $14 fee to cover the cost of materials is required. AARP members qualify for a $2 discount if they provide their membership number. Completion of the course may qualifies the student to receive an automobile insurance discount in the state of Arkansas.

Fundraiser Set For Project
Organizers are preparing for this year's Rogers High School Project Graduation with two activities planned this week.
The next meeting of the committee will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Rogers High School lecture hall. Volunteers are needed. Parents of seniors may contact Sharen or Mike Tibbs at 636-1747. Parents of juniors, sophomores and freshmen also may contact the Tibbses.
A fundraising pancake breakfast is planned for 8 a.m. Saturday at Applebee's Neighborhood Grill in Rogers. Breakfast tickets are $5 or five for $20.
Library Slates New Year Event
FAYETTEVILLE -- The Fayetteville Public Library will celebrate the Chinese New Year at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 24 in the Wal-Mart Storytime Room.
The library will celebrate the Year of the Ox with a display of traditional Chinese dress and a sampling of food and games.
The event is for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
Registration is required. Individuals may sign up at the Children's Desk or by calling 856-7170.
