Hogs Show Toughness During Intense Workout

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett worked on his footwork while wearing nothing to protect the right ring finger he broke earlier in the summer.
Running back Michael Smith and wide receiver Lucas Miller showed as they sprinted on the team's practice field that they've recovered from the surgeries that limited them in the spring.
And as for the rest of Arkansas' players who lifted weights, jogged through cones and smashed rocks Friday in the hot afternoon sun, they're looking forward to their offseason conditioning program coming to an end.
Pelphrey's Contract To Be Extended To 2014
Friday, July 10, 2009 9:50 PM CDT
FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas officials are in the process of finalizing the paperwork that would extend the contract of men's basketball coach John Pelphrey from 2012 to 2014, Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long told The Morning News on Friday.
Long said he spoke with Pelphrey in June and informed the coach that his contract would be extended for another year.
University officials are also working on finalizing the paperwork for the one-year extension that Long agreed to give Pelphrey after he took the Razorbacks to the second round of the NCAA Tournament during the 2007-08 season.
